Radio Revamp!

I love this piece!
I'm pretty sure this was once a radio cabinet,
now it's guts are gone and it's great for storage
and perfect for that little nook where nothing else would fit!

Here's a close-up of the "after".
Notice the mirror above- you will see before and afters of that too!

Once again, I forget to take a before pic, before I actually begin!
You get the idea, right?

This needed more work than I thought!

This linoleum was used as a cover on the back!
It's amazing what people will use, I was once re-doing
a chair and found counter laminate used for the back!
I guess we use what we have : )

Here we are primed...

Now time for the mirror...
Gaudy in gold...   Not for long!

Big improvement!

back to the radio cabinet...

All distressed... now for the inside!

New wood on the back, the shelves are lined with wallpaper
(used from wallpaper sample books that are discontinued)
I use this stuff to line drawers too! And it's free!

So what do you think?

  1. Well I love it of course! Its so frenchy..I might turn it into a little tiny bar!

  2. That is fabulous! I love it! It turned out great- perfect amount of distressing and charm and the mirror is such a great fit above it! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog and for your comment on my bathroom remodel! :)

  3. I once found three antique silk stockings, a nightgown and vintage bra in a turn of the century couch, along with a very old penny - I can relate to the laminate! This piece turned out great - I think it's lovely.

  4. I think it looks lovely. You did a great job on the distressing! I know that to get that look it is a lot harder to get it right than one might think! Great makeover. I stopped by from Met Monday.

  5. Beautiful piece of furniture - well done

  6. beautiful piece and the mirror is so frenchy. wonder what you're going to put inside
