Sap Buckets Turned Planters!!

I LOVE These!!
The fellow that works a few doors down makes maple syrup and he had
some less than perfect buckets he wanted to sell and wondered if we were interested?
My eyes lit up...  I said YES!!!

I decided to make planters out of them! They each have a hole
in the top back where an S hook can be put for hanging.

I've been seeing a lot of bloggers using stencils and I love the look!
So off to the hardware store I went and found exactly what I was looking for!

NUMBERS!
Why? Don't know, just thought they would look cool.
You could have your house number put on them!

I used stencil paint and a stencil brush. This paint takes a few days to dry.

Lucky number 8!

Can you picture chartuesse sweet potato vine hanging
out with some bright orange and purple pansies?!

Ahh... spring has finally arrived!

They are sitting on this awesome bed bench that my Mom made!

I hope you share in my excitement!!

I'm thinking Funky Junk Donna would like these!

  3. I'm visiting from Twice Owned Tuesday and had to stop and say that I think those buckets are great. I love that you added the numbers. Those would be perfect sitting on the porch with the house numbers on them. Great idea.

  5. I love it--anything numbered.

I found you from freckeld laundry. I entered 4 posts-one is a numbered lamp and lamp shade.

  7. Those are just as cute as can be. How sweet would they be marching up the front steps with the pansies planted in them, stenciled with the house numbers on them. HMMMMM....maybe I have another spring project on my list now. Happy happy Easter.

  14. Oh, I adore those sap buckets! I'm addicted to anything with a silver-toned finish. I am on a mission to find one or two. Those look like zinc. LOVE! Your stenciling looks fantastic, too.
