This has to be one of my favorite rehabs!
I'm calling this one Vera...
Here's the inspiration fabric for the paint color...
My client has this Amy Butler fabric on her dining room chair seats,
so we thought we would paint the buffet in a lighter turquoise.
As you can see, this is the before... lots of potential!!
Some of the veneer was in rough shape,
this small area I was able to just remove it.
The top however, needed to be filled with wood filler and sanded to make
it an even surface before adding the anaglypta,
(embossed wallpaper) which comes in MANY different designs.
This is one of my favorites! This is the top after!
This piece has great details, which will pop once distressed.
I primed, painted and distressed...
I love these legs!
All the beautiful details POP!
(She is painted an antique white on the inside.)
Here she is all ready for her new home!!
I hope she's very happy in her new place!

ReplyDeleteThis is GORGEOUS. That color is scrumptious!
ReplyDeleteBridget I love what you've done to a piece that was in need of repair anyway. I have a buffet in my kitchen that was in perfect shape when I put it there but it's taken a beating and I'm trying to decide whether to refinish it or paint it. Seeing this makes me want to paint it! What to do...thanks for the inspiration ;)

Hey there Bridget~ Vera is a show stopper!! I love the embossed paper on the top- such a fantastic way to fix those veneer issues and make it look amazing! When I think about how much time I have spent trying to fill in or chip off old veneer and make it look decent! Great idea~ thanks for the inspiration and thank you for sharing at Feathered Nest Friday! :)
