Beautiful in Black and Gold

I haven't been into painting anything black lately,
but I am loving the look of gold and black!

Almost a before pic, I caught myself before it was too late!

I didn't prime this piece because it
would have taken a lot more coats of black.

I painted right over the hardware too...

Two coats of black with the details highlighted in gold Rub 'n' Buff!

What a difference...

This is the newest piece in the shop
and it has a pretty mirror to match!

Ooh la la...

The details really make this piece fabulous!

It could be yours... $295

Thanks for looking!

Furniture partially made from old crates!

I have been told this is a double wig chest.
I just thought is was really unique with the two doors on either side,
but apparently that's where you would keep your wigs!

The most unique part is that it's partially made from old crates!
Look at the drawer bottom!

I don't know why, but I am calling her Gertrude...

Here's how she looked when she came to me...
Cute, but in need of some love (kinda like me LOL)

I wasn't going to do a whole lot to her.
First I primed the hardware then
did a quick coat of pale yellow all over.

I liked the way she was looking distressed...
but still thought she needed something else.

Another drawer bottom...

Now we're getting somewhere!
I dry brushed some Chartreuse over the pale yellow.

Then distressed, I am happy with the outcome!

As I was working on this piece I recalled another piece
of furniture made from old crates that I had done a rehab on,

Super quick and super shabby!

We got this cute Art Deco vanity in and all it needed was some shabby love!

Here is Miss Venessa before her makeover...

I had this soft pink oops paint that I painted a quick coat over the white,
not caring if it was completely covered.

This project only took about an hour to an hour and a half to complete!

Now for some shabby love!

This vanity already had glass knobs, so they didn't need to be replaced.

Isn't Vanessa SHABBY-LICIOUS!

Baby Blue Dresser Turned Changing Table!

This dresser was recently purchased by Rustique... The Rehab Boutique

I quickly got started on this new rehab!

I love the detail on the top drawer and the decorative piece on the back!

First, a coat of primer (Zinsser Bin), it helps
the paint stick to all surfaces, even glossy ones!

I left the hardware on too!

Two coats of this pretty blue, all over...

All distressed... I added gold Rub 'n' Buff to some of the details.

I would have taken some close-up pics, but it sold in no time!

The couple that purchase this dresser has a new
baby boy on the way and this will be used for their changing table!

Thanks for lookin'!

Frenchy Armoire, Ooh La La!!

I love the way this piece came out!

Here she is in her "before" state... yes, I took before pics this time!!

She has lots of potential, but looking pretty plain right now!

She's all primed, getting a white paint job with some light gray dry brushing!

I need to do something to "jazz" her up,
so I looked through some stencils, I liked the center of this one,
so I taped it off to get only the area I wanted.

I love it and the chartreuse-y green is so yummy!

I forgot my camera the day I finished her,
so there are some steps along the way that won't be seen.

There was this oval detail that couldn't really be seen,
so I decided to distress around it to give this plain armoire some more pizazz.

The dry brushing really adds to it and gives the piece more depth.

I love the drawers inside..

This little chair is a perfect match to the armoire!
