How to give a chest of drawers a beachy look...

I love the casual, worn, beachy look!
It's very simple... all you need is a painted chest and a sander!

This chest was already painted,
all I had to do was get out my
sander to give it that worn, beachy look!

First, I take out all the drawers and sand them...
I use an orbital sander because it's quick
(and I'm impatient), and I like to see results FAST!

I make sure I sand around all the edges,
the knobs, and randomly in-between.

It's really awesome when you have cool colors
underneath the top coat that get exposed when you sand!

Seafoam green... yellow...

I love chests that have detailed sides
like this, it really adds to the charm!

I love how the sides look!

I think this look is my favorite!

Sofa Table Transformation

I couldn't bear to show the before picture first, it was U-G-L-Y!

But that was going to change very quickly....

This was a Craigslist find, not at all what I was picturing...
(even though I saw a picture lol)

I was a little disappointed when it arrived, nevertheless
this sofa table was going to shine when I was done with it!

To me, this table makes no sense. It looks like someone
took spare parts and created a table out of them!

I primed the whole thing, including the hardware,
then painted it a beige with green undertones.

It's better... but then I dry brushed white over the beige, it's getting there.

The distressing is really going to make all the difference...

Can you see how the green comes through after it was distressed?

I am completely happy with it! It no longer
looks like it was put together with spare parts!

Time to decorate!!!

I love these leaded glass doors,
I think they make the perfect pairing!

A couple of glass bottles with
faux pearl necklaces around their necks...

A pretty floral....

This didn't last but two days in the shop!
The leaded glass windows sold too!

That's not all that sold...  it was a good day!

Plain Jane No More

Here's a sneak peak of how not so plain Jane turned out...

At first I was just going to distress this piece and be done...
The creative juices were flowing.... it had potential to be so much more...

I did a really quick paint job, not caring if it was fully
covered because I wanted the white to show through.

I can't get enough of the Rub 'n' Buff, I have applied gold to the knobs.

I am in love with this color, the best way I can describe it is a deep sea foam.

A quick brush on the sides.

Now distressed... yummy!

Ohhhh.... I know what I am gonna to do with the panels!

STENCIL!
I only wanted to use part of this stencil, so I taped it off.
Using what else but Rub 'n' Buff!

How can you not love this worn look!
At this point I was very excited!

The gold on the knobs, all distressed.

This is my favorite piece in the shop!

The mirror above makes a perfect pairing for someone's dining room.

Now the fun part, decorating!

It's ready to go home with someone very lucky!!
