Buffet Beauty!

This has to be one of my favorite rehabs!
I'm calling this one Vera...

Here's the inspiration fabric for the paint color...
My client has this Amy Butler fabric on her dining room chair seats,
so we thought we would paint the buffet in a lighter turquoise.

As you can see, this is the before... lots of potential!!

Some of the veneer was in rough shape,
this small area I was able to just remove it.

The top however, needed to be filled with wood filler and sanded to make
it an even surface before adding the anaglypta,
(embossed wallpaper) which comes in MANY different designs.

This is one of my favorites! This is the top after!

This piece has great details, which will pop once distressed.

I primed, painted and distressed...

I love these legs!

All the beautiful details POP!

(She is painted an antique white on the inside.)

Here she is all ready for her new home!!
I hope she's very happy in her new place!

'Tis the Season Celebration!

Okay, I haven't been a slacker...

I've been getting ready for our
'Tis the Season Celebration
this Sunday, November 28th from noon to 5:00
at Rustique... The Rehab Boutique

We are having LIVE music by my honey, Stan Martin
He will be singing some of his originals,
some Christmas songs and I'm sure he'll take requests!

Yummy Homemade Treats!

15% Off the Entire Shop!
(Consignment items not included.)

This is the poster I designed for our big day.
Background image from the Graphics Fairy.

Complimentary Gift!
(While supplies last.)
Each customer will get a bag of vintage inspired Christmas Tags.
Some images are from the Graphics Fairy and some are from Dover Publications
where you can get free samples every week when you sign up!

Here's how I did it!
I downloaded images and brought them into Photoshop where I manipulated the
images to look like vintage tags. I printed them on heavy card stock, 12-up on a sheet.

Then, I cut them out using an exacto knife and metal ruler.

Punched holes!

Added ribbon!

I used soft vintage colors. Here are some of my favorites!

Here they are in their little baggies, all ready to go!

I have these drawers from an antique Singer sewing machine,
(the rest of which was destroyed) I salvaged parts from it and thought
this would be a great way to display the tags!

I hope you can join us!

Teddy Bears to Lingerie

Small Dresser Rehab
From teddy bears to a
different kind of teddy....  Grrrr...

Here's the before,
Cute with lots of potential...

I lightly sanded each
drawer with an orbital sander.
Bye, bye teddies.

Then I primed, using Zinsser Bin.
It seals in any odors or stains.

Primin'...

Primin'...

and more priming!

Now for the paint.
I used Valspar's "Cream in my Coffee".
I love this color, it's a vintage off-white with a hint of pink undertones.
My new favorite!

Here she is all ready to go!
I think I'll call her Henrietta...

What do you think of Henrietta??
I would sure like to take her home,
but she's already sold!
